Siberian chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a wild mushroom that grows on birch trees in extremely cold regions of northern latitudes, including Siberia, Alaska, Baltic regions, Scandinavia, and northern Canada, where temperatures fall below -30°F for the 2-3 months per year required to sustain maximum growth and potency. Chaga mushrooms grow naturally on birch trees through a parasitic relationship that allows the mushroom to absorb life-sustaining nutrients from the tree. The sterile conk appears in irregular formations and resembles a clump of burnt charcoal. It is not the fruiting body of the fungus, but rather a mass of mycelium, which appears black in color due to an abundance of melanin. Siberian chaga mushrooms are wild harvested only after 20 years of growth and cannot be commercially cultivated.

Chaga mushroom is classified scientifically as a non-toxic fungus in the Hymenochaetaceae family of Basidiomycota mushrooms and is far superior to the rest of 150 species of Basidiomycetes that are used medicinally. Chaga is a non-toxic mushroom that is highly regarded as a dietary supplement and has been used by humans for over 400 years with no known side effects. However, it is advised that anyone with mushroom allergies consult a physician prior to use.

While there are currently no known contraindications or adverse side effects when taking Chaga Extract at the recommeneded usage, we do advise that anyone taking medication consult with their physician prior to use.

In particular, anyone taking medication for diabetes that assists with lowering blood sugar levels or a blood thinning medication should consult a physician.

We recommend that adults take one full dropper, or 1ml, 1-2 times per day. For twice a day usage, we recommend one dose in the morning and one in the evening. The liquid extract can be mixed with any beverage or taken directly under the tongue.

One bottle of chaga extract contains 50 ml, or 50 servings. For those taking 1 serving per day, a bottle should last about 50 days.
